The Villa de Vida Independent Apartment Community (“Villa”)
Villa de Vida, Poway is a 54-bedroom community in the City of Poway created for residents with developmental disabilities. Each unit in this beautiful, independent living community has a full kitchen, private bathroom, living room, bedroom and outdoor patio.
Within our community, our team helps residents with making rental payments, home energy assistance, access to food pantries, and referrals to food and transportation subsidies. Referrals to health resources, including psychological and medical, are also available. Additionally, the Resident Services and Activity Coordinator help residents access a variety of no-cost and low-cost preventative, diagnostic and therapeutic resources. Resident Services staff also host health resource fairs and healthy lifestyle and education workshops.
As part of being an independent adult, conflicts are part of life. When conflicts arise between residents, our staff helps mediate to prevent escalation of these types of situations.
Our residents also have access to a wide variety of supportive services, activities, and opportunities for meaningful engagement with each other, our neighborhoods and our community. A non-clinical Resident Services Coordinator and an Activity Coordinator work to foster physical, emotional and cognitive health; authentic social connections; and a feeling that we live and work in a community where we are each known and valued.
We also partner with professional service providers that offer Supported Living and Independent Living Services.

UPDATE ON SERVICES with the San Diego Regional Center
On May 7, 2020, Carlos Flores, the Executive Director of the San Diego Regional Center, sent a letter from Villa de Vida, Inc. and Mercy Housing California to all Program Managers and Case Managers at the Regional Center. The letter described continuation of services for regional center clients when they move into Villa de Vida Poway. You may contact your representative to view that letter.
