Partners Collaborating to Create a Brighter Future

Villa de Vida Partners

We would like to acknowledge friends of Villa de Vida, Inc. who share the same vision of providing the best life opportunity to people with special needs.  We are grateful for their support as we walk together on this amazing journey!

The City of Poway

The City of Poway has been a key partner in helping Villa de Vida become a reality. They welcomed the organization and donated three acres of land at the corner of Pomerado and Oak Knoll Streets. This was a significant contribution to the project as the land had an appraised value of $2.7 million.

Additionally, Poway committed another $500,000 to help start the project.

Villa de Vida has also partnered with the City of Poway Community Services Department to provide cooking classes and employment preparation for people with special needs.

San Diego County Housing & Community Development

The San Diego County Housing & Community Development Services (HACSD) partnered with Villa de Vida to provide project-based vouchers (PBV) to make the housing development affordable.

To be eligible for a PBV unit at Villa de Vida Poway, applicants must provide certification of having a developmental disability or a disability that would benefit from the services offered at the development.

HACSD requires applicants to complete a Disability Status Certification form and consent to sharing their information with Villa de Vida Poway. The form requires a Knowledgeable Individual or Healthcare Professional to certify the applicant’s disability status. The form lists the supportive services available to residents, as well as services that are not included. It also defines the terms “developmental disability” and “person with disabilities.”
